In April, as nature begins to restore warmth and color to the world, one color that has become synonymous with spring is pink. That’s because Crittenton Services’ annual fundraising gala, “Paint the Town Pink,” scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at Wheeling Park’s White Palace, heralds the end of winter and the onset of new beginnings. The metaphor of spring blossoms is appropriate for Crittenton Services’ mission to “to embrace children and families in need with nurturing services to help them achieve self sufficiency.”
The locally-operated nonprofit agency has been helping transform the lives of young women in the Wheeling area since 1895, and while the services have evolved and expanded over the years, the core values have remained steadfast.

Now in its sixth year, Paint the Town Pink is a highly-anticipated evening of exquisite cuisine, socializing, music, and dancing.  This year’s theme is the Asian-inspired “Infusion in Pink.”

Committee members have been gathering to plan and prepare the evening. Among the features for guests to enjoy will be the extraordinary dining fare of Ambience Catering, with food stations offering a variety of gourmet dishes consistent with the Asian Infusion theme. The Dr. Zoot band will perform a wide variety of music throughout the evening for dancing, dining and listening. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent and live auction featuring unique, locally donated items and services. In addition to that, a raffle will be offered for an unforgettable excursion to Chinatown in San Francisco.  The winner of the raffle, valued at $2500, needs not be present.

Crittenton Services, Inc., formerly known as the Florence Crittenton Home, has evolved from its initial identity as one of Charles Crittenton’s homes for “wayward” women.  Headquartered on National Road, the agency operates four distinct programs: the Crittenton Residential Program, Wellspring Family Services, Cradles to Crayons Childcare Centers and the Intensive Educational and Outpatient Treatment Program.

“Crittenton continues to grow and change to meet the needs of our community,” explained Kathy Szafran, president and CEO of Crittenton Services.  “Through the support and generosity of the many friends of Crittenton, it is possible for us to continue to make a positive impact in the lives of the children and families we serve.”

Paint the Town Pink Committee members include Betsy Andrieni, Tracee Chambers, Leann Delong, Renee George, Nancy Georges, Barbara Isminger-White, Yvonne Jacobs, Julie Kenamond, Meta Lasch, Wendy Long, Sarah Lydick, Butch Maxwell, David Miller, Marjorie Moolten, Belinda Phillips, Rose Potts, Bethany Romanek, Lorrie Ross, Amy Smith, Jennifer Spencer, Mary Stein, Kathy Szafran, Sue Thompson, Jackie Tracey, Steve and Wendy Weimer, and Sharon Weisner.

Tickets are available for purchase at $75.00 for singles and $150.00 for a couple.  For additional information about Crittenton Services and Paint the Town Pink, contact Maxwell or Romanek at 304 242-7060, or visit http://www.florencecrittenton.net/pink.asp.
