Crittenton Honors GraduatesCrittenton Services, Inc. is celebrating graduation this week. The ceremony will be held at Bridge Street Middle School on Thursday, May 17.Two young ladies will receive their GED's from Crittenton's program, three will graduate from Wheeling Park High School and four others will be promoted from eight to ninth grades. "Celebrating their educational achievements is an important part of our mission at Crittenton. Without the proper education, our girls couldn't succeed and achieve self-sufficiency. We are so proud of their accomplishments," said Cecilia Marchisio, Vice President of Residential Services. The Crittenton Residential program helps females aged 12 through 18 with behavioral health services as well as a variety of life-skills to promote self-sufficiency. Among the most critical components of the program is education, and in partnership with Ohio County Schools, Crittenton offers a full time on-site school with certified teachers. Ohio County Schools' Deputy Superintendent Dr. Dianna Vargo and Wheeling Park High School Principal Bernie Dolan will attend, handing out certificates of achievement. The celebration will include food, music and academic achievement awards. The Crittenton Cares Volunteer Group will provide the cake. Food is provided by the Quaker Steak & Lube, Riesbeck's and Undo's. Crittenton also operates Wellspring Family Services, an outpatient counseling service available in 18 counties, with five offices in Wheeling, Weirton, New Martinsville, Parkersburg and Morgantown. Wellspring Family Services is currently serving more than 500 children, families and individuals. Crittenton's Cradles to Crayons Child Care Center offers child care for infants and toddlers at its Elm Grove and Wheeling Park High School sites. Cradles to Crayons also offers before and after care services at Woodsdale and Middlecreek Elementary schools and the universal pre-k program at Middle Creek Elementary.
