Wellspring Family Services, a division of Crittenton Services, Inc., is teaming up with the Weirton Christian Center to offer counseling services to children
in Hancock County.

Wellspring Family Services continues to offer the highest level of care to adolescents and adults in 18 counties in West Virginia and can now offer services to the children the Weirton Christian Center serves.

"We are thrilled to be a part of the Weirton Christian Center, sharing the mission of helping children be the best they can be. I wouldn't have it any other way," said Carol Amendola, site director of Wellspring Family Services' Weirton office.

Wellspring Family Services is offering a Wellspring Family Services Week in honor of the new partnership that will be held July 18-22. The theme is drug abuse prevention and anti-bullying and will have visits from the Hancock County Sheriff's Department's K-9 units, a local artist and more. A magician will thrill the children on Wednesday. Wednesday night is parents' night, with the Weirton Christian Center offering programming beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the dangers of bullying. Wellspring Family Services is also introducing our new therapist at the center, Brandie Dodd, that night to parents.

Wellspring and WTRF have teamed up to offer a poster contest amongst the children. That contest will be judged by Mayor George Condik, Weirton Daily Times Chief Editor Craig Howell and one other yet to be named. Art supplies were provided in part by Michaels at The Highlands in Ohio County.

The week will end Friday, July 22 with a celebration and poster judging. The food is provided by Domino's Pizza, Eat N' Park, and Kroger in Weirton.

"This is truly a group effort from the community. We want to make sure that every child is educated on the dangers of drugs and bullying. Wellspring Family Services also wants to make sure that every child and every family receives the behavioral health services they need," said Beverly Petrelli, Vice President of Wellspring Family Services.

Wellspring Family Services is an outpatient counseling service. Wellspring therapists go into the homes, schools or private location to meet the client's needs. Wellspring Family Services are available in 18 counties in Region 1 of West Virginia. Wellspring Family Services has offices in Wheeling, Weirton, New Martinsville and Morgantown.
