Boyd’s Barn in Triadelphia is the rustic setting as the Junior Board of Crittenton Services holds its annual fall steak on Saturday, September 26.  For $15 per person, guests will enjoy a steak dinner, dessert, music and square dancing.

Filled with antiques and collectibles, the barn is journey through time, pictures and memorabilia from Wheeling past scattered throughout the four corners.  The menu includes a rib-eye steak, baked potato, salad, fresh vegetables and homemade desserts.  Participants are asked to bring their own plates and utensils.

This year’s event, sponsored by Riesbeck’s Food Markets, will be filled with great food and lots of fun, all to benefit the Crittenton Junior Board, which supports the children served by Crittenton’s Residential Program.

The Junior Board provides activities and social events for the young women in Crittenton’s residential program. Activities include parties, crafts, picnics, making welcome baskets and shopping for Christmas gifts.  Junior Board members become role models and teachers, nurturing each of the girls and their children toward a healthy and happier future.

“The volunteers on the Junior Board have a unique opportunity to work directly with girls who have had extraordinary challenges in their lives,” said Junior Board President Marci Rubenstein. “Many of the things we take for granted are foreign to these girls. Sometimes just the presence of a Junior Board volunteer for a monthly activity can have an enormous positive effect on these young women, who want nothing more than to lead a normal, productive life. We all share the satisfaction of having done a little good in the world.”
